Antiquing at Lakewood 400

What a great day today!  My morning was spent styling and hanging art in a client's cigar lounge/office/men's club.  I'm not into that genre, per se, but it turned out pretty cool with lots of dark leather, walnut finishes, Ralph Lauren throw pillows, old cigar advertisements and country club golf gear. Forgot to take pics:(

Whenever I'm in Roswell at lunch time, a trip to Theo's Brothers Bakery is a must.

Theo's is a little jem.  It looks like it belongs in France or Austria.

Their breads and desserts are the best in Atlanta and the tarragon chicken salad on olive bread is also killer.

Then it was off to Lakewood 400, our local antique market that happens every third weekend of the month. There I met my friends Lisa and Deb who hand craft the most lovely holiday items from felted wool.  I have the exclusive for their items in Alpharetta.

Who could refuse a lavender filled valentine?  These retail for $3.00 in my booth.

I DIED for these wool nests and eggs. So precious. Got them too.

Back outside, these cool numbered theater seats would be funky in a foyer or mud room.

Never mind that these were mining couplings.  I would use them for candlesticks en masse. A seal at $4.00!

Hand dyed vintage ribbons.

 Kelly from Novel makes these leather bracelets embellished with vintage brooches. Her niece, who's fiance' is in Afganistan, has the stamp envelope one in which she saves a love letter from him. I love mine with a Victorian belt buckle.

Liz Houser specializes in vintage children's toys and books.

Her mom, Mary Wyman, is a talented artist. I bought two original landscapes from her. They might not make it to the store...

Neat idea for recycling pallets. 

Bohemian Bird recycles men's Brooks Brothers shirts from Goodwill. I have one and love to wear it off the shoulder with skinny jeans and ballet flats or boots.

Great two toned side table or night stand.

Cool font and color.

I bought this silk painting from Brown Eyed Girl. (DAD look at the lamps.)

It reminded me of all the gorgeous wallpaper out there now. Looks good with green.

I also came home with several of these.

An easy DIY. Use as a hamper, a drink bucket, store rolled towels in the bathroom, or plant a tree in it.

Another DIY..these are "slightly" tacky, but with the right flowers and trims, they could be fab.

I debated this for the store, but it sold right away.  I did buy the paint by numbers landscapes on top though...

If you're in the area, Lakewood 400 is a fun weekend activity. Go North on 400 and get off at Exit 13. Right on Hwy 9 and it's a mile up on your right.  

It's cocktail time...a perfect way to round out a fantastic day.
